Solar energy

ENGIE is driving the UK and Ireland’s renewable energy future, delivering clean, reliable power through solar projects that support Irish businesses, communities, and the national goal of achieving net zero.

Supporting business customers with renewable solutions

As part of the global ENGIE Group, we are deeply committed to accelerating the shift towards sustainable energy through a strong focus on solar power, alongside other renewable energy solutions and energy storage. We are proud to be a leading supplier of green energy, providing businesses of all sizes with reliable, low-carbon electricity sourced from solar and other renewable assets.

With a clear focus on solar energy, ENGIE UK is expanding its renewable energy portfolio to meet the growing demand for clean power. As part of our global commitment to sustainability, we are working towards 50GW of installed renewable capacity by 2025, including a significant contribution from solar, and 80GW by 2030.

ENGIE UK is dedicated to driving the country’s transition to net-zero carbon emissions. By combining innovative solar projects with our low-carbon infrastructure, we are shaping a sustainable future where economic growth and environmental responsibility go hand in hand.

Our Solar Projects

ENGIE UK operates several solar farms across the UK. We have been expanding our renewable energy portfolio, and solar power plays a significant role in our efforts to transition to low-carbon energy solutions.

ENGIE’s solar farms range in size, with some being large-scale installations, while others are smaller, community-focused projects.

We’re currently developing key solar farms across Counties Galway and Limerick, bringing renewable energy directly to Irish homes and businesses. Designed to harness Ireland’s natural resources, these solar farms contribute significantly to the country’s clean energy mix.

Each project is also backed by a community fund to support local social and environmental initiatives, ensuring that the benefits of renewable energy extend beyond the grid and into the heart of the communities we serve.

These sites will have a combined installed capacity of 18 Megawatt Peak (MWp) and generate enough electricity to provide affordable, clean power to 4,100 home
