Storengy UK proud to support Green Expo

We were delighted to get involved as a prime sponsor of the 2024 Green Expo Youth Conference in Chester in November.  Storengy UK introduced student delegates from local schools and colleges to a video overview of its operations near Northwich.  Delegates then engaged in three workshops: a game to achieve a net zero solution in a local community, sustainable fashion and the effects of clothing choices, and networks for nature and conservation. Storengy UK’s team supported the Net Zero game delegates.

In the afternoon, Amy Howarth, a graduate commercial analyst with Storengy UK, participated in a Q&A panel discussion, alongside representatives from Chester Zoo, EET Hydrogen and the Cheshire and Warrington Pledge.  The discussion was very lively and, while there were some prepared questions on hand, the students came up with some very perceptive questions, putting the panel through its paces.

At the end of the Q&A session, students were able to speak with the sponsors, presenters and with representatives from other local businesses and colleges about qualifications, aspirations and discovering more options that they had imagined for future careers in sustainable businesses and industry.

Jane Harrad-Roberts, Project Director for Green Expo said; “The Green Expo Youth Conference is a wonderful opportunity to engage students from schools and colleges across Cheshire and the Wirral on career choices and green skill and job options.  We are so grateful for the support from Storengy UK, without whom we could not put on events like this that provide so much for the next generation of industry leaders.”

She added; “Amy and all the Storengy UK team involved seemed to enjoy the event and we hope will be back at Green Expo this year. Amy, as part of the discussion group, was really relatable to the students, as the youngest member of the panel and most recently out of education.  Her passion for her job was very evident and, while being interviewed afterwards, Amy said she had been really impressed by the engagement of the students and had learned as much from them as the panel had imparted.”
