Dan Busfield, Head of Business and Partnerships at Leeds Rhinos Foundation, said: 

“We are delighted to welcome ENGIE Supply as a partner of Leeds Rhinos Foundation, in supporting us to provide inclusive opportunities for all.

As our new Inclusive Sport Partner, their support will contribute to the growth of our inclusion department in which Wheelchair Rugby, Physical Disability and Learning Disability Rugby League are showing an increase in uptake.

It was clear from the outset that ‘giving back’ to the Leeds community was important to ENGIE Supply and their employees.

South Molton in Bloom

Sue Harrison, founder of South Molton in Bloom, expressed the importance of sponsorship for their ongoing work

“Community support is vital for us to keep growing and thriving. Generous contributions like the one from ENGIE’s Renewable Gases team, enable us to expand our flower beds around the town, keeping South Molton blooming with colour and the continued support is helping us plan for next year and beyond.”

“We believe it’s local businesses supporting the local community that make South Molton such a special place to live and visit and we are absolutely over the moon that ENGIE are engaged with local companies and are continuing the sponsorship.”

Chance Changing Lives (CCL)

Martyn Johnson General Manager at Chance Changing Lives (CCL) “In December 2024 CCL received £4500 from Storengy UK a company of ENGIE. This donation has been utilised to provide the following:

Support for vehicle costs for our electric van which during the last 12 months has collected 8 Tonnes of food that would otherwise have gone to landfill. That food has been used to help 150 families including 123 disadvantaged children.

Essential food items were purchased including a range of fresh fruit and vegetables, frozen meat and poultry products. It’s vital that our families, especially the children, get a wide variety of fresh fruit and vegetables to promote improved health and wellbeing and these items are free in the pantry to those who have been referred to us.

We have been able to use some of the donation for volunteer costs, of which there are 50 at CCL. Part of the donation from Storengy UK was utilised to purchase branded aprons for our volunteers bearing their name.

Storengy UK has also provided staff time to help us freshen up the walls in our Community Pantry making it brighter and cleaner. Staff spent a day painting our walls and refitting our office space making it more conducive to our needs. 

We remain indebted to Storengy UK for their continued support, a support that we have enjoyed for over 3 years. Thank you, we really couldn’t do this without you.

Green Expo

Jane Harrad-Roberts, Project Director for Green Expo said; “The Green Expo Youth Conference is a wonderful opportunity to engage students from schools and colleges across Cheshire and the Wirral on career choices and green skill and job options.  We are so grateful for the support from Storengy UK a company of ENGIE, without whom we could not put on events like this that provide so much for the next generation of industry leaders.

In the afternoon, Amy Howarth, a graduate commercial analyst with Storengy UK, participated in our Q&A panel discussion, alongside representatives from Chester Zoo, EET Hydrogen and the Cheshire and Warrington Pledge. 

Amy and all the Storengy UK team involved seemed to enjoy the event and we hope will be back at Green Expo in 2025. Amy, as part of the discussion group, was really relatable to the students, as the youngest member of the panel and most recently out of education.  Her passion for her job was very evident and, while being interviewed afterwards, Amy said she had been really impressed by the engagement of the students and had learned as much from them as the panel had imparted.”

Queens Park High School

Andrea Watts from Queens Park High School said

“As part of our commitment to provide outstanding Careers Education Information and Guidance, we were thrilled to welcome 28 employers from a wide range of organisations to conduct mock interviews with our Year 11 and 13 students. It was wonderful to see so many of our students smartly dressed and ready to engage in professional dialogue.

The feedback from employers was fantastic, I am proud of how our students conducted themselves. This valuable mock experience ensures our students are prepared for future interviews. We would like to express are sincere thanks to Storengy UK a company of ENGIE for giving us their time to take part in these worth while sessions and supporting the next generation.”
