Reduce your carbon emissions
Green gas offers a renewable alternative to fossil fuels, helping to significantly lower greenhouse gas emissions and combat climate change.
Green gas from ENGIE is sourced from plants that produce biogas from anaerobic digestion or landfill waste. Biogas produces at least 46% less carbon emissions than standard natural gas, enabling you to reduce your carbon footprint. Buying green gas is a powerful demonstration of your commitment to sustainable energy sourcing.
All green gas supplied by ENGIE is sourced from within the UK, helping to support the UK’s energy independence and the local economy.
Green gas offers a renewable alternative to fossil fuels, helping to significantly lower greenhouse gas emissions and combat climate change.
Sourced from organic waste materials, green gas underscores your business’s dedication to sustainable practices.
Green gas production uses local waste resources, promoting a circular economy and strengthening regional supply chains.
Every unit of green gas is backed by Renewable Energy Guarantees of Origin (REGO) certificates, ensuring transparency and credibility in your sustainability efforts.
Every kWh of Green Gas supplied by ENGIE comes with a Renewable Gas Guarantee of Origin (RGGO), which identifies exactly where, when, and how it was produced. This gives you complete traceability and reassurance that your gas comes from authentic biogas sources.
ENGIE itself is a registered supplier with the Green Gas Certification Scheme (GGCS). This certification means that every green gas contract we sign is registered with the scheme administrator, a subsidiary of the Renewable Energy Association. Certified gas is tracked from its injection into the network to its sale to consumers, ensuring there is no double counting and providing certainty for businesses that buy green gas.
ENGIE offers businesses the opportunity to earn regular income by exporting green gas through tailored Gas Purchasing Agreements (GPAs), a first-of-its-kind solution in the industry. By installing proven technology to clean, purify and pressurise biomethane, your gas can be injected directly into the grid from facilities such as anaerobic digestion plants, sewage treatment works or waste-recycling sites.
ENGIE provides flexible contract options and can purchase and retire Renewable Gas Guarantees of Origin (RGGO) certificates, further enhancing the environmental credentials of your green gas production.
