A Code of Conduct for Zero Tolerance

Ethics and compliance are of utmost importance at ENGIE and no compromise in this matter is tolerated.

All colleagues, regardless of hierarchical level, function, or location, follow an ethics Code of Conduct, which outlines the ethics principles that each employee must follow in their professional practices and behaviours. It is based on 5 founding principles:

  1. Corruption and fraud are strictly prohibited
  2. Human rights must be respected
  3. Environmental protection is a commitment that binds us
  4. Laws and regulations apply to each of us
  5. Integrity and loyalty guide our relationships with third parties

International Standards

ENGIE’s ethical principles are based on the highest international standards that we promote in all our projects:

  • The United Nations Convention against Corruption
  • The Convention of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) on Combating Bribery of Foreign Public Officials in International Business Transactions
  • The OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises
  • The International Bill of Human Rights, including the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, and the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights
  • The Conventions of the International Labour Organization (ILO)

Whistleblowing

As part of our constant drive to deepen our commitment to ethics and provide simple tools for anyone to report inappropriate situations or things that are not in line with our principles or current laws and regulations, ENGIE has put in place a whistleblowing system. It is open to all employees and stakeholders, from suppliers and sub-contractors, to unions and NGOs.

  • Alerts can be made at any time, 24 hours a day, in 4 languages (French, English, Spanish, or Portuguese)
  • There’s a single e-mail address for ENGIE Group: ethics@engie.com
  • The whistleblower can alert in French, English, Spanish, or Portuguese. Messages written in other languages will be translated.
