Alun Rees

Alun Rees brings a wealth of experience in GB energy regulation and policy to his role at ENGIE UK. His expertise significantly enhances ENGIE UK’s regulatory and advocacy capabilities, while also coordinating our ESG & CSR initiatives to amplify our public voice. Alun and his team closely collaborate across ENGIE UK’s various businesses, providing a key support for our collective growth strategy.
Prior to joining ENGIE UK, Alun spent a decade at Centrica PLC, the UK-headquartered international energy company. He headed up the regulatory and policy team that supported British Gas Energy (including B2B), Centrica Power and Net Zero. He also spent a year of his time at Centrica as Director of Regulation for Bord Gais in Ireland.
Alun also spent four years as a senior policy adviser at the trade association Energy UK, and another three working at a Public Affairs consultancy in Westminster. He has a degree in Social and Political Sciences from Cambridge University, specialising in Politics.
