Kevin Kennedy
Chief Information Officer
Kevin has been a leader within the Digital & IT community for over two decades and has held the role of Chief Information Officer at ENGIE UK since the separation of ENGIE and EQUANS in 2021.
He began his career as a secondary school Physics and Science teacher before joining the Energy industry in 2000 as a Trader with Edison Mission Energy. Kevin soon moved into IT / Digital management and leadership roles in First Hydro Company, International Power and subsequently GDF Suez, then as ENGIE formed in 2016 he became the UKBU IT Director for Energy Supply and Energy Management, while also leading the wider Applications & Digital teams across the UK.
Over his career, Kevin has been instrumental in transforming ENGIE’s use of advanced technologies and innovative solutions – some achievements include rationalising multiple trading and energy management applications and data solutions to common platforms, migrating key operational applications to third-party software as a service solutions, and migrating on-premise systems to the cloud.
With a focus on operational excellence and sustainability, Kevin is dedicated to meeting the challenges of and accelerating the transition towards a carbon-neutral economy and his Digital & IT expertise is helping position ENGIE as a leader in the energy sector.
Kevin currently lives in West Yorkshire with his husband and two lively fox red labradors and takes a keen interest in the local community acting as a Foundation Trustee of a local secondary school.
